The 3 Unavoidable Strategies for Self-Discovery: A Reflection for the Curious Woman Seeking Authenticity and Intentionality in Life

I spent a good part of my 20s seemingly lost, but are we ever really lost or simply forging our way on our own life path?

There’s a misconception that we have to have things figured out or know the next “right” step in the life journey. But life is funny sometimes, in that the more you plan instead of allowing intuition to lead, the more frustration you experience when you veer off the path.

Honestly, releasing the fear of making a mistake is one of the best things that ever happened to me.

In a world that demands plans, roadmaps, and a clear direction, the fear of making mistakes can feel overwhelming. But as I’ve learned in almost 40 years on this Earth, there are no true mistakes, only experiences that give you experiential wisdom.

But am I saying you should live your life with reckless abandon?

Absolutely Not! On my journey, I've discovered that a life guided by intentionality, curiosity, and authenticity provokes a sense of fulfillment and contentment, leaving no room for regret.

No one told me life is less stressful when you focus on moving with intention rather than living to avoid mistakes.

With this new perspective, let's redefine what it means to live.

Here are three insightful strategies that can guide your journey to self-discovery and intentional living:

  1. Declare Your Boundaries: Don’t be afraid to set boundaries and actually use them. Getting clear with yourself on what you value and what you need not only supports your well-being, but helps your relationships in the long run.

  2. Cultivate your tribe: Speaking of relationships, it’s important to nourish relationships that mirror your core values and support your path of growth. When the relationship has run its course and no longer feels aligned, give both parties a gift by releasing yourself and moving on. This creates time, space, and energy to connect with those who are now being called to join your journey.

  3. Pursue your passion: I’m not only speaking about your career, but being intentional about carving out time for activities that bring you joy, liberate your gifts, and sync with your values will hugely impact your life overall. Joy in one area of your life has a way of raising your vibration and spilling over into other facets of your life.

Whether you’re in your 20s, 30s, 40s, or beyond, it’s never too late to start living authentically and intentionally. You're both the muse and the creator of your life experiences. Decide how you want to show up in the world and make it happen.
